A Nova Scotia man was killed in a single vehicle crash on Grand Manan.
RCMP believe the driver lost control of his vehicle near the end of Shore Road in Grand Manan, hit a seawall and overturned, landing in the water. A 68 year old man from Barrington Passage died in hospital from his injuries. Police believe alcohol may have been a factor.
New numbers released by the provincial government show 29 people died from opioid overdoses last year.
The report from the Health Department says opioid-related O-Ds accounted for more than half of the 51 drug-related deaths reported last year, including 3 involving fentanyl. 23 of the 29 deaths were unintentional and almost three-quarters of them were in the Saint john and Moncton areas.
