Heroes to be honoured today

Canadian heroes will receive decorations from Governor General David Johnston at a ceremony in Moncton today.

Dozens of Atlantic Canadians are being recognized for courage, volunteering, professional valour and putting their own lives at risk to help others.  Soldiers, police, civilians and volunteers will also be celebrated for exceptional service and merit.

P-J Walk for Kids

You may be wondering why all those people were walking down the street in their pyjamas yesterday.

Almost 150 families took part in the first Rise and Shine PJ Walk for Kids, according to the Times and Transcript. It’s a fundraiser in support of Ronald McDonald House in Halifax. The Moncton walkers raised about $57,000 at Centennial Park. Kids and adults alike wore brightly-coloured onesies and various plaid-patterned PJ bottoms for the fun day.
