A pickup, apparently left in neutral, crashed into the Champlain Bowlarama yesterday morning.

MacArthur’s Paving and Construction is doing work on Gauvin Road in Dieppe. No one was in the truck when it took off on its own around 8:00am.  It was left running while an employee got out to talk to someone on the crew.

Health Minister Victor Boudreau fired Rino Volpe as CEO of the Vitalité Health network in 2014…and that is going to cost the government over half a million dollars.

Justice Larry Landry issued a summary decision in the wrongful dismissal lawsuit that Volpe’s firing was not justified and awarded him $525,000 in damages and legal costs. Landry noted affadavits from various officials that Volpe was difficult to deal with and was not a yes man…but ruled the complaints were not sufficient to fire him without cause.
