The Chicago Cubs won the World Series this morning with an 8-7 10th inning win over Cleveland after a rain delay. It’s their first world championship since 1908.

In the NHL…the Canadiens won their eighth straight shutting down the Canucks 3-0.  Penguins beat the Ducks 5-1.

In the NBA…DeMar DeRozan had 40 points as the Raptors downed Washington 113-103. Celtics downed the Bulls 107-100.

Legislature opens with throne speech focusing on education

The fall session of the legislature opened with a throne speech focusing mostly on education. Included was increased opportunities for students to learn coding and the trades; more money to help pay for daycare; and free tuition for undergrad students attending a public New Brunswick post-secondary school whose family earns up to $60,000 a year.
