Gamers across the Maritimes will unite on Saturday for Extra Life, in support of the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. The 24-hour marathon lets gamers play video, board, sports, whatever they want, while raising money. Participants could also win a trip to Orlando for Extra Life United 2017. The Crown called its final witnesses yesterday at the first degree murder trial of Devin Morningstar.
The jury was given the afternoon off as well as today. The Times and Transcript reports the trial will resume tomorrow with the defence telling the court whether it intends to call any witnesses. If not, then they will go to closing arguments.
One of the final witnesses was the man who drove the three suspects from the triplex where Baylie Wylie’s body was found. Claude LeBlanc said Morningstar was not a bad guy…just in the wrong place at the wrong time. That prompted Wylie’s mother to storm out of the courtroom.
