Salvation Army fire

There were some tense moments when flames erupted at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Mountain Road Saturday night. The store was open at the time but everybody got out safely.

The fire was concentrated in a storage area in the back. The sprinkler system kept the flames down until fire fighters could get it out. There was thick smoke through the building which forced evacuation of other stores in the strip mall. The cause is under investigation.
