Unity Charity gets grant for Unity Day at various NS/NB schools

The Medavie Health Foundation is giving Unity Charity a $15,000 grant. It’ll help bring Unity Day to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick schools, which empowers youth to make positive choices through artistic expression. Here’s the full 2016 tour itinerary:

• November 15 – Digby Regional High School, Digby, NS
• November 16 – J.L. Ilsley High School, Halifax, NS
• November 17 – Lockview High School, Fall River, NS
• November 18 – Millwood High School, Middle Sackville, NS
• November 21 – Cole Harbour High School, Cole Harbour, NS
• November 22 – John Martin Junior High, Dartmouth, NS
• November 23 – Caledonia Junior High, Dartmouth, NS
• November 25 – Citadel High School, Halifax, NS
• November 26 – Halifax Community Showcase
• November 30 – Dartmouth High School, Dartmouth, NS

TB at Moncton school

Public health officials are investigating a confirmed case of tuberculosis at a middle school in Moncton.

Medical health officer Dr. Yves Leger said in a statement that a person at Sunny Brae Middle School was recently diagnosed with the infection…but they haven’t said if it’s a student or staff member.

An information session for parents will be held at Sunny Brae Middle School at 6:00 this evening.
