Site of new school uncertain

The District Education Council still hasn’t made up its mind where the new middle school should go in the north end of Moncton.

Four of five sites are still under consideration, according to the Times and Transcript, after a meeting Tuesday.

Vice-chair Angela Lawson, a member of the planning committee, says provincial officials asked the council to consider a three storey building so she assumes one of the sites would be smaller…but there’s been no decision yet. The province wants to buy the land by the spring with the school expected to open in 2019.

Tidal Bore

Hundreds of people headed down to the riverfront again yesterday to watch the surfers riding the tidal bore upriver.

This week has seen the highest tides of the year in the Bay of Fundy because of the supermoon and a couple of surfers have take advantage to ride the wave…although they say yesterday’s was a little choppier than Tuesday.
