Amendments to the Smoke-free Places Act were introduced today. They add the grounds of Regional Health Authorities to the areas where smoking is banned; all provincial hospital grounds have been smoke-free since October 5th. Changes also account for legalized marijuana, adding that to cigarettes and the like.

Legislation introduced to give nurse practitioners more authority
The province has introduced legislation that would give nurse practitioners more authority. They’d be able to admit patients to the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program, and use diagnostic services in healthcare facilities for those patients. Amendments would take effect April 1st if passed.
