Guilty pleas in diamond heist

A Russian couple has admitted to stealing a diamond from a Saint John Jewellery store last month.

70 year old Grigori Zaharov and 44 year old Natalia Feldman went into the store and told the clerk they had come off a cruise ship and were interested in a diamond. Then he palmed it while the clerk was distracted.

The couple pleaded guilty in court yesterday and the judge remanded them in custody until sentencing December 1.

Charlottetown Police are also interested in the couple for a similiar diamond heist there.

Government amends non-smoking rules to include marijuanna

The Gallant Government has decided to ban grass in public spaces…smoking it that is.

Even though it’s not legal yet, Health Minister Victor Boudreau has introduced legislation to add marijuanna to what you can’t smoke in public spaces which includes tobacco and ecigarettes.

The amendment bans pot smoking in enclosed public places, indoor workplaces, school grounds and in vehicles carrying children under 16. It’s also not allowed in outdoor public places frequented by children or hospital grounds.
