The Canadian Tire in Riverview was broken into sometime overnight Friday. RCMP told the Times and Transcript that investigators spent a number of hours at the store on Saturday morning as the store remained closed until Saturday afternoon. Doors to the store were smashed and number of items were stolen.

Premier pushes for pipeline
After Ottawa’s approval of two pipeline projects out west last week, Premier Brian gallant says there’s still a strong need for the Energy East pipeline. Gallant says it would help eastern refineries, including Irving’s, to reduce their dependence on foreign oil, and provide a safe mode to get oil from Alberta to New Brunswick.
Ottawa is expected to appoint new panelists soon for the National Energy Board’s review of the almost $15.7 billion project.
