Prison sentence for attack on woman

A Moncton man has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for holding a woman captive and sexually assaulting her in October last year.

The Times and Transcript reports 46 year old Troy Collin Miller was convicted on several charges and sentenced yesterday. Court was told Miller went to the woman’s home and asked to come in and use her bathroom. She did know him. Then he grabbed her by the neck and attacked…holding her captive for 26 hours.

Student beating brings jail time

A young Moncton man has been sentenced to 8 months in jail for beating another teen unconcious, according to the Times and Transcript.

22 year old Christopher Leblanc was 19 at the time of the offence which involved him beating and kicking another teen at a party at a house. There were eight people there at the time…all high school students. Video of the attack was posted on Facebook which is what led to an RCMP investigation.
