A Moncton man will go to trial in April on five charges, including assaulting a woman with a van, according to the Times and Transcript.

He was charged after a woman, whom he knows, was run down by a van last June.

Rinks under construction

The icy weather seems to have settled in now so they’re starting to set up the skating rinks in the greater Monton area.

Moncton’s Parks Supervisor Dan Hicks told the Times and Transcript they are in rink-building mode now setting up the wooden forms in several parks and in front of City Hall….but he doesn’t know when they will actually make ice…depends on the weather.

Riverview has started flooding some rinks. It says the sliding hill at Winter Wonderland, though, won’t be open for tobaggoning until its covered in snow.

Dieppe has two outdoor rinks but both are on natural ponds and won’t open until the ice is thick enough to support all the skaters.
