Moncton shivers

Temperatures are on a real roller coaster ride. Pretty much the whole province is under an extreme cold warning as arctic air moves in.

Extreme cold warnings remain in place for all of New Brunswick. We had wind chills around -35 this morning in the Moncton area because of gusty northwest winds…but at least it’s sunny. Things will improve on the weekend with temperatures soaring to +12 or more Sunday…but it’ll also be wet. Then temperatures will fall again Monday.

Winter driving

RCMP say yesterday’s snow resulted in 20 vehicles going into the ditches along a stretch of the Trans-Canada between Mountain and Mapleton Roads. Corporal Valerie Cyr told the Times and Transcript the vehicles, including at least one transport truck, hit an icy stretch and went into the ditches on both sides of the highway…nobody was hurt.
