Ottawa offered a little more money for healthcare funding…but not enough to satisfy the provinces and territories yesterday.
Finance Minister Bill Morneau offered to boost the increase in transfer payments next year to 3.5% instead of 3%…and add $3 billion in extra money for home care and mental health…but the provinces rejected that.
Mourneau said that despite an unsuccessful first effort, the process is not over.
