Hit and run in Dieppe

Four young men were taken to hospital after a hit and run in Dieppe early yesterday morning.

Coadiac RCMP say the men, in their twenties, were run down from behind as they were walking on a sidewalk on Champlain Street. Their injuries were described as minor, although two were unconcious when they were taken to hospital.

RCMP say they have no suspects at this time and are reviewing video surveillance from businesses in the area.

Axe scare downtown

There was a bit of scare on St. George Street yesterday as RCMP rushed to an office building because of reports of a man with an axe walking into the building.

Fears were calmed quickly when it was learned the man was an employee of a water testing company in the building. He uses the axe to chop through ice on rivers and lakes to take samples.
