Six people have been arrested after an investigation into illegal moose practices. Eight search warrants were executed in the Miramichi and Neguac areas, with moose meat, antlers and meat-cutting equipment seized along with multiple weapons, drugs and more. Charges will relate to illegal selling and possession.

A kitchen fire in a duplex sent nine people scurrying for safety last night.
Flames broke out in the two apartment building on Mountain Road across from the former Moncton High School. Fire crews arrived quuickly because the fire station is only a few hundred metres away…but there’s fire and water damage so the nine people have to find someplace else to stay for now. The Red Cross is helping.
