Baie-Sainte-Anne boy on provincially bought Vimizim off drug after bad reaction

The drug Vimizim hasn’t been working for a Baie-Sainte-Anne boy after the province agreed to pay for it.  11-year-old Morgan Doucet has Morquio syndrome, a genetic bone disorder.  The province agreed to fund the up-to-$300,000-a-year drug for a year after Morgan’s mother fought for it.  CBC reports she took him off it after he didn’t react well.

Man charged for break and enters, gas thefts

A Cocagne man has been charged for a series of break and enters and thefts of gas in Cocagne, Lakeville and Shediac.

19-year-old Luc Surette faces two counts each of theft under $5000, and break and enter. He’s gone for a 30-day psychiatric assessment in Campbellton, and is due back in court for a bail hearing January 20th.
