A Moncton man remains in custody for now after being charged with assaulting a woman.
51 year old Bernard Chafe was in court yesterday charged with assaulting the woman December 15th with a tobacco tin. He’s also charged with uttering threats and breaching probation. The crown is objecting to his release so a hearing will be held next week on that.
The nasty weather didn’t deter the bargain hunters.
There were lineups outside some stores for the door crasher Boxing Day specials. Electronics at Best Buy drew large crowds. Other stores also reported brisk business…although some shoppers said the deals weren’t really that much better than you get in the lead up to Christmas such as Black Friday. Still for many, Boxing Day shopping sprees have become part of their holiday tradition.
