Three New Brunswickers have been appointed to the Order of Canada. Playwright Norman Foster of Fredericton, entrepreneur Wesley Armour of Moncton and businessman Gerry Pond of Rothesay are in. They’ll be awarded the honour in Ottawa at a later date.

Hearts of the North Dog Adoptions on Hold
Hearts of the North is putting the brakes on adoption after reports of attacks. The organization brings American death row dogs to the Maritimes, but on Facebook it says it’ll stop in the meantime. The post also points out there have been two incidents out of almost 1000 dogs, and that’s considered successful. However, Vets in the province are also raising concerns that adopted dogs are bringing new cases of heartworm into the province.
