A Canadian man has died in Thailand.

The 26 year old was celebrating New Year’s Eve with about 20,000 other people at a massive beach party when he drowned in high surf. No name or hometown has been released.

Team Canada has advanced to the semi-finals at the World Juniors with a 5-3 win over the Czech Republic and will play Sweden tomorrow. The Russians and Americans play the other semi.

The Canucks were the only Canadian team on the ice in a light night in the NHL beating Colorado 3-2.  The Devils blanked the Bruins 3-0.
