A Canadian woman has died while hiking near the Italian-Austrian border.
24 year old Chelsea Alvarez, of Waterloo, Ontario, slipped off a path and fell down a hill onto rocks while hiking New Year’s Day. Alvarez had moved to Italy six months ago with her fiance who signed to play hockey for an Italian team.
The Mooseheads beat the Wildcats 3-2 in overtime in a Q-league game in Moncton.
The Canadiens clipped Nashville 2-1 win in overtime. Leafs lost 6-5 in overtime to the Capitals. Jets downed Tampa Bay 6-4. Columbus now has the second longest winning streak ever in the NHL at 16 games after beating the Oilers 3-1.
On the hardwood…The Raptors lost 110-82 to the Spurs ending a six game road trip.
