Lisa Harris’ trip to Ireland questioned

Some people are questioning Lisa Harris’ recent business trip to Ireland.  The seniors and long-term care minister and Miramichi Bay-Neguac MLA went to learn about innovations that could be brought to New Brunswick.  It cost about $5200 for her and an aide, with Green Party leader David Coon wondering why she didn’t go somewhere better known for senior care.  Cecile Cassista of the Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents’ Rights thinks a lot of research could’ve been done via phone and online.

The political sniping continues over the resignation of Dominic Cardy as leader and a member of the NDP.

Brunswick News reports Conservative Leader Blaine Higgs praised Cardy for his contributions and hopes to work with him in the future.

The Liberals were quick to comment.  Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Donald Arsenault said for someone who called himself a social progressive democrat, to align himself with the most right-wing leader of the Conservatives in over 50 years speaks volumes of Dominic Cardy.
