Renewed call for more medical help for Vets

Canada’s military Ombudsman Gary Walbourne is urging Pttawa to do more for soldiers who have to leave the armed forces for medical reasons. Walbourne recommended last fall that the federal government ensure injured personnel have all the necessary benefits in place before they leave the military. This issue is now taking on added urgency because of the tragedy in Upper Big Tracadie.

Bail denied for man charged in shooting

The Moncton man charged in the shooting downtown just before Christmas has been denied bail.

30 year old Christopher Eric Dickie is charged with aggravated assault and breaching probation after the incident December 20th on Cameron Street. The judge denied bail in court yesterday after a hearing. Evidence presented during that hearing is banned from publication.

So Dickie remains in custody with his next court appearance January 18.
