Saint John Police Looking for Suspect Linked to Five Bank Robberies

Police are looking for a suspect they believe may have robbed five banks in the Saint John area over the past two and half months. The latest incident occurred Thursday night when a masked man with a gun robbed the CIBC branch on Consumers Drive. On Friday Saint John police release images of the suspect captured on surveillance cameras. Police believe the same man may be responsible for robberies at the CIBC Main Street Branch in October, Scotiabank branches on Westmorland and Main Street North in November; and the TD bank branch at the East Point Shopping Centre on December 22nd. In all, there have been eight bank robberies in the Saint John area in the past ten months.

Plane Lands Safely in Moncton After Emergency Call

A training plane managed to land safely at the Moncton Airport after making a call for an emergency landing. CBC is reporting that the Moncton Flight College plane made a 911 call shortly after 9pm on Friday night requesting an emergency landing at Romeo LeBlanc international Airport. The plane reported a problem with its landing gear but managed to land without incident.
