RCMP shot a murder suspect to death in Alberta.
The Mounties had gone to the Stoney Nakoda First Nation west of Calgary Saturday to arrest 27 year old Ralph Stevens in connection with the murder of a man there Friday. They arrested one suspect without incident but then say another suspect began shooting at the officers and they returned fire.
In the Maritime Hockey League…Slammers beat the Commandos 5-4 at Arthur J. Leblanc Arena.
In the NHL…the Senators snapped a four-game slide with a 5-3 win over the Oilers. Bruins lost 4-3 to the Hurricanes in overtime. The Penguins downed the Lightning 6-2.
On the hardwood…the Raptors lost 129-122 to the Houston Rockets.
In the wildcard games in the NFL…The Packers pounded the Giants 38-14 to advance to the NFC divisional playoffs. In the AFC, the Steelers advanced by defeating the Dolphins 30-12.
