Youths charged after disturbance

Police have charged two youths following an incident in Halifax yesterday morning.

At approximately 8:39 a.m. on January 26, two white males wearing dark clothing entered the Centennial Building at 1276 South Park Street, yelling, swearing and making reference to getting explosives. At approximately 9:30 a.m., patrol officers located the two suspects in the 6000 block of Coburg Road. The two 17-year-olds, both from Halifax, were arrested without incident.

They have both been charged with one count each of uttering threats, public mischief and causing a disturbance. One youth has also been charged with breach of an order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and he is in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today. The other male is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court on February 2.

Suspicious deaths in Dartmouth

Police are exploring the circumstances surrounding two sudden deaths that occurred early this morning in Dartmouth.

At approximately 8:37 a.m. on January 27, officers responded to Marilyn Drive to assist EHS with a medical-related emergency. A man and a woman, believed to be in their fifties, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The residence is a duplex and the neighbours were evacuated as a precaution.

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest foul play and it may be accidental, however, it is early in the investigation.
