Engine trouble has left only one ferry on the run from Caribou to Wood Islands.
The MV Confederation has been pulled from service until repairs are made. No word how long that might take. In the meantime, the remaining ferry, the Holiday Island, will make five trips a day instead of four.
Wildfires continue to roar through British Columbia.
7,000 residents have been evacuated from their homes in the central interior with no relief in sight…no significant rain in the forecast and conditions will worsen with more evacuations possible.
The BC Government, which declared a province-wide tate of emergency, is pledging hundreds of millions of dollars in relief with residents able to access $600 immediately to help cover expenses.
