The committee on classroom conditions is meeting again this week to come up with more recommendations for the government.

Committee member Sean Baker, a teacher, says initially he expects changes to be small…but he told CBC they will be noticible. He pointed out one recomnendation supports teachers being able to write individual program plans. Barker conceded bigger, more complicated issues affecting schools in rural areas will take longer to resolve.

Ottawa and the province have announced $18 million in funding over two years to help provide more access to affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.

The province says funding for 440 new rent supplements is now available across the province which will help reduce the current waiting list for affordable housing by another 10%.
