NS man facing human trafficking charges in Ont.

A Nova Scotia man is facing a number of charges, including human trafficking, after a year long investigation involving seven provinces.

It’s alleged some men originally from Nova Scotia had moved to Ontario and were trafficking and exploiting numerous Nova Scotian women in the sex trade across Canada.

31 year old Lorenzo Trevor Thomas, who was arrested in Niagara Falls, is facing 17 charges, including trafficking in persons and assault.

Visas and social media

The U-S State Department is asking the Trump administration for permission to review social media, email addresses and phone numbers from some foreigners seeking U-S visas.

The proposed requirements would apply to people seeking visas who have been to areas controlled by terrorist organizations. They would have to supply information on their visa application about their social media handles and platforms, phone numbers and email addresses from the past five years, as well as 15 years of work and travel history.
