A family of five in Murray Siding has been displaced by fire. No one was home when the Salmon River Road house went ablaze yesterday morning around 10:30. The couple and three kids are staying with relatives, and the Red Cross is helping.

Murder charge stayed in 2011 Dartmouth killing
A Dartmouth man’s murder charge has been stayed after a witness changed his story. 28-year-old Damarqus Shane Beals was accused of killing 19-year-old Keya Simon in 2011, but the Crown announced the stay during his trial yesterday.
