Dozens of students were absent from Hammonds Plains Consolidated School yesterday with a gastro-intestinal illness of some kind, according to CBC.
Reports started coming in of Grade Primary to 5 students being very sick and the regional Medical Officer of Health sent a letter to parents to advise vigilance about washing hands and to keep sick kids home. They asked that any children taken to a doctor be tested for common infections. The Environment Department has also been called in.
