Police are investigating an accident yesterday evening on Windmill road where a sport bike took out a fire hydrant. The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Another sports bike stopped to view the wreckage, then left before police arrived.

A 27 year old Dartmouth man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. Police would like to speak to the other driver.

There’s no word yet on the cause of a fire Saturday evening that forced 19 people out of their apartments in a three storey building on Windsor Street.

Nobody was hurt and the Red Cross is providing emergency accomodations and supplies. There was extensive fire damage to the front of the building…it could be days before many are allowed back in.
