No charges in continuing care home death

No charges will be laid in connection with the death of an elderly resident at the Beaver Bank Continuing Care Facility last October

The death of the 79 year old man, who died three days after a female resident pushed him to the floor causing a head injury, has been ruled a homicide.

Police investigated, talked to prosecutors and decided not to lay any charges because of the cognitive impairment of the woman.

Teen facing charges after shooting himself

Police say a teen is facing charges in connection with a shooting last night…he’s the one who was shot.

The 17 year old showed up in hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. Police say it appears it was self-inflicted and accidental. Still, he’s facing various weapons charges.
