Police are investigating after a pin found was found in a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. It was bought Wednesday night from the 162 Main Street location in Dartmouth. A boy discovered the pin when he took a bite, but he’s okay.

Family complains about secrecy surrounding Desmond case
Two sisters say they’ve had no luck getting their hands on any records or reports to help them understand why their ex-soldier brother killed himself and his family in Upper Big Tracadie.
Cassandra and Chantel Desmond say they are furious about a lack of disclosure from the Mounties, military, Veterans Affairs and the provicial Health Authority. Chantel Desmond says the family is considering legal action but first they want the province’s medical examiner to call for a judicial fatality inquiry.
