The other fire was at the Ridgeway Towers apartment building on Cowie Hill.
There were flames in a third floor apartment. The building was evacuated. The fire was put out and the building was ventilated before residents were allowed back in.
There’s no word yet on the cause of either fire.
The MacDonald Bridge will be open this weekend because of the Tall Ships.
Vehicles, bikes and pedestrians will be able to cross 5:30am tomorrow morning until Sunday at 7:00pm.
The city is also closing Lower Water Street between George and Prince Streets to vehicle traffic Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 11:00pm. Traffic will be detoured onto Bedford Row where parking will be banned.
There’ll be regular ferry service Saturday and expanded ferries on Sunday.
