Information and Privacy Commissioner Catherine Tully wants more power to get the government to comply with her orders to release information.
Tully says it should be up to the government to have to go to court to block the release of information and not on citizens to get it released.
Tully has provided 34 recommendations to modernize and strengthen access and privacy laws and allow for electronic disclosure..
A 58 year old man was shot dead by police in Montreal and Quebec’s police watchdog is now investigating.
Police were called to a building yesterday evening about a man wrecking everything in his apartment. Police say the man was holding a screwdriver in each hand. They weren’t able to subdue him with plastic bullets or a taser. Then he was shot several times and died later in hospital.
