Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Karen Casey has issued a statement on contract talks with teachers. She says the province agreed to convene a conciliation board, but the NSTU declined. Also included is the government still being open to discussing all issues related to working conditions, and the working group looking into them will continue.

Curler Colleen Jones being inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame tonight
A Canadian curling icon will officially take her place among our country’s sporting legends during the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony tonight in Toronto.
Six-time Scotties Tournament of Hearts and two-time World Women’s champion Colleen Jones of Halifax is one of seven inductees who are being honoured during the ceremony at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
