A woman and her three sons escaped a fire in Glace Bay unhurt.
The woman and the boys, aged 3 to 13, are staying with relatives and the Red Cross is helping with emergency supplies.
Nobody else was hurt either in the blaze in the two storey house on Wallace Road but there was heavy damage.
Big Brothers Big Sisters on the South Shore is out of money and will have to close if it can’t raise the needed funds to stay open.
Executive Director Vanessaa Mossop told the CBC they $30,000 to keep the doors open. She says corporate and private donations have been declining for years. The South Shore chapter has been mentoring about 50 children on average each year.
