The Yarmouth ferry has so far cost the province more than it’s seen in tourism spending. Tourism Nova Scotia says $62.8 million has been spent since the ferry’s revival, but visitors who took it here spent about $52 million. Part of the provincial spend was startup cost, and hotel occupancy did go up 57% in southwest Nova Scotia.

Overnight winter parking ban in effect tonight
The municipal overnight winter parking ban will be enforced from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 to allow crews to properly clear streets and sidewalks.
