NS boat on Loonie

Another iconic fishing boat, besides the Bluenose II, will be gracing the face of a Canadian coin….and it too is from Nova Scotia.

A Cape Islander, a design believed to have originated in Clarks Harbour in the early 1900s, will be featured on the tail side of a commemorative Loonie to be released for Canada’s 150th birthday.

Flying lobsters

A Chinese cargo airline will soon start carrying Nova Scotia lobsters and other seafood to China from the Halifax airport.

Yangtze River Express Airlines will use freighter aircraft to handle five chartered cargo flights this month before the Chinese New Year.

The Airport Authority says more than $15 million worth of seafood has already been shipped overseas for the holidays and these flights are expected to increase that total to $25 million.
