An Eastern Passage woman says she feels “magnificent” after winning $5.3 million in a Lotto 649 draw. Olga Beno says she’s been playing the same numbers since 1989, and they finally came up December 28th. She plans to use some of her winnings to build an accessible home as she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a decade ago, plus spoil her family.

Four found dead in home from apparent murder-suicide
RCMP say 33-year-old Lionel Desmond, his 31-year-old wife Shanna, their 10-year old daughter Aaliyah and his 52-year-old mother Brenda were shot last night in Upper Big Tracadie. The situation appears to be a murder-suicide, with Lionel’s wounds being self-inflicted. He’s served with the army in Afghanistan, and had PTSD.
