Investigations continue into the weekend drowning of a fishermen off Cape Sable Island…including one by the federal Transportation Safety Board. The provincial Labour Department is also investigating the death of 44 year old Jimmy Buchanan.
The crew of the lobster boat say Buchanan was only in the water for a few minutes but they were unable to revive him.
An RCMP veteran in the Annapolis Valley has been charged with impaired driving.
Corporal Scott MacMillan, a 26 year veteran of the force, was pulled over in Kings County while off-duty Christmas Eve. MacMillan is due in court the middle of next month on charges of impaired driving and refusing the breathalyser.
He’s on administrative leave for now and an internal investigation is underway by the force.
