Road rage charges

Police have charged a 24 year old woman after a road rage incident in Dartmouth.

A 27 year old man told police he honked when a woman cut him off. Then when they stopped at a light at Albro Lake and Victoria Roads, she got out with a knife came over and spat in his face and motioned as if she was going to slash his tires.

Police tracked down a suspect in Lower Sackville and she is facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon in court in August.

Lots of strawberries this year

There’s a bumper crop of strawberries this year. Farmers say we’ve had the right amount of rain and sun.  Last year was difficult because of dry conditions.

Marlene Huntley, at Horticulture Nova Scotia, says the season has been so good that some U-Picks have been closing early because they’ve sold out already. She added the strawberry industry in the province is worth about $ 20 million a year.
