In the Q-League….Victoriaville beat the Mooseheads 3-2 at Scotiabank Centre.

In the NHL…the Canucks lost 2-1 in overtime to the Devils.

In the NFL playoffs…Pittsburgh will play the Patriots for the AFC championship after the Steelers beat Kansas City 18-16.  The Packers downed the top-seeded Cowboys 34-31 on a last play field goal to advance to the NFC title fight against the Falcons.

In the NBA…the Raptors beat the Knicks 116-101.

Grounded Tanker Freed in Cape Breton

A tanker vessel that ran aground off the coast of Cape Breton has been freed from the seabed. After a pair of attempts were hampered by weather, the Mexican owned Arca 1 was pulled free without incident this morning. The Arca 1 is now being towed to Sydney harbour for repairs. The Tanker ran aground off Little Pond after suffering engine failure during a storm last Sunday.
