Nova Scotia’s most famous varmint is live on-line. The weather prognosticating groundhog ‘Shubenacadie Sam’ has made his annual webcam debut. People across the world can now watch Sam live from the provincial Shubenacadie Wildlife Park ahead of his prediction on February 2nd. The province says the best times to see Sam on the Nova Scotia Webcams website is between 8:30 a-m and 4 p-m.

Two Vehicles Flee Halifax Police in Dartmouth
A pair of drivers refused to stop for Halifax police on the same street in Dartmouth last night. Shortly before 8pm a Jeep Patriot refused to stop for a marked police car on Albro Lake Road. The vehicle fled but was eventually located on Leman Drive and a lone male occupant was seen fleeing from the vehicle. The suspect is still at large.
In a separate incident about an hour later, a Red Chevrolet Cobalt refused to stop for a marked police car on Albro Lake Road. The suspect vehicle was tracked to Farrell Road where three male occupants fled on foot but the 21-year-old driver from North Preston was arrested at the scene. He’s facing charges of evading police, unsafe storage of ammunition and obstructing police.
