The province has appointed two new judges, including the first Mi’kmaw woman.
Catherine Benton is a legal aid lawyer from Lunenburg County, and is the second Mi’kmaw judge in the province. The other apponitee is Ronda van der Hoek…a prosecutor with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
A Hantsport man has been charged with animal cruelty after a video was sent to the SPCA of a little dog being abused, according to Metro.
The agency says the pug is doing well with its current owner.
