The Restigouche Regional Service Commission is worried that some construction and demolition debris doesn’t always go to approved landfills, but the Department of the Environment and Local Government says that it has no plans to increase its current staffing levels.
There is one private construction dump in the area that is legal, and some of the debris goes there.
The other legal option is the commission’s transfer station.
