Beresford NHL ref

The upcoming NHL season is going to be Ghislain Hebert’s 10th as a referee in the professional ranks.

The native of Beresford, near Bathurst; told The Tribune that it’s a great profession that keeps him involved in hockey; as he wasn’t able to make it as an NHL player himself.

Every season, he has about 120 flights and 150 hotel nights.

Hebert will be at the Moncton Wildcats Celebrity Golf Classic at the Royal Oaks Golf Club, today.

DRHS awards

Recently, 48 students graduated from Dalhousie Regional High School.

The major awards went to Robyn Phillips and Desiree Isaac-Pictou.

Phillips got the Governor General’s Medal for the highest academic standing in Grades 11 and 12, as well as the Birk’s Medal for academic standing and student leadership.

Isaac-Pictou was awarded the Jostens’ Medal for academic excellence and student leadership.
