Reaction has been mixed, and in some cases furious, that the Trudeau Government has agreed to apologize and pay former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr $10.5 million.
Some on social media see Khadr as a terribly abused child soldier deserving of compensation but others still see him as a terrorist killer.
Khadr pleaded guilty to five war crimes in the grenade death of an American soldier. He sued Ottawa for $20 million in 2004 alleging Ottawa breached his rights by failing to protect him and colluding with the Americans in his mistreatment.
